Topic : Introducing solar power as a new energy sourse

Scott : disagree : The amount of electricity solar panels generate depends on the weather. The weather has to be good. They are expensive to make. It is difficult because we are a small country.

Ethan : disagree : Apollo has a lot of resources. We should develop ways to generate power other than solar panels.

Kingsley : M

Davis : agree :Solar panels do not produce any harmful substances and are good for the environment. Installing them in our homes will lower our electricity bills.

Symon : agree: Solar panels are profitable. We can generate electricity by simply building panels on our houses. Let's make this the second largest source of power generation in the country.

Agree side

They made two main arguments: one was that it would have little impact on the environment. Solar power does not emit any harmful substances. Also, as long as there is sunlight, it is a renewable energy source. They emphasized the fact that solar power was safer than other methods of generating electricity. Another reason is that they can be installed in ordinary homes. They argued that there is no need to build new power generation facilities. As for the source of funding for solar power, they answered that the homeowner would pay for it.

Disagree side

They did not deny solar power. They argued for a better way to generate electricity.  We have to us the ocean ctrrent power generation.

Audience Questions

Audience members asked questions about primary energy, the disadvantages of excluding weather, and about running a company. Symon answered that he would like to make solar power his main system in the future and that he would hire an engineer who knows about solar panels for solar power company. When asked if there are people who are against or financially unable to install solar panels on their homes, Davis said that only those who have a lot of money and want to install solar panels should be allowed to do so.

Result

They reached consensus.

Using the ocean current power generation as a main generation, and the solar power as a secondary one.

My thought

Davis claimed that the installation of solar panels in households would reduce the electricity bills of those households, but I thought that would only benefit the owner of the house and not our country. Energy generation is a kind of business. It is meaningless if the country does not benefit from it. I thought it was necessary to buy the electricity generated by ordinary households and use it to generate electricity for the government.

As for the power generation method using the ocean, I thought the cost would be too high. I didn't know where the money would come from, and if it were to come from the government, I thought it would be difficult because it would be paid through taxes.

I agree with solar power and using the ocean for power generation because it is a renewable energy source, but I think we need to discuss it in more detail because the cost is a big issue.
